Straight Stairlifts

A straight stairlift is exactly what it sounds like, a stairlift for a set of stairs that go straight up and down. Straight stairlifts are ideal if you do not have any bends or twists in your staircase and the stairlift can operate in one straight line. Stairlifts can be installed in number of different colours, styles and sizes to best suit your needs and the decor of your home.

Curved Stairlifts

A curved stairlift is for those who may have a bed, intermediate landing or corner on the stairs.

Curved stairlifts tend to be a little bit more expensive than a straight stairlift as they are tailor-made and designed to fit your staircase specifically. With curved staircases you can choose from a single rail design (Handicare Freecurve) or a double rail design (Handicare 2000)

Frequently Asked Questions

Within our range of stairlifts there are slim and ultra slim models to fit in the narrowest staircases. There are optional extras such as the slide track which slides up to prevent the rail blocking access at the bottom of the stairs or in front of a door

Deciding whether you need a straight or curved stairlift will depend entirely on the type of stairs you have. If your stairs have a curve or twist in, then a curved stairlift would suit you best. Whereas if your stairs go straight up and down without an intermediate landing or bend then a straight staircase would be best for you.

Choosing between the different models may seem a little difficult at first, but dont worry, our team of experts are here to help. Before you make any final decisions on your stairlift our team will preform a home assessment to make sure it is suitable for you. This will include taking into account your current and future needs, how narrow your staircase is and any optional extras which could suit your needs.

There are may different optional extras which can be added to your stairlift such as a powered swivel seat instead of a manual swivel seat. This means that the seat will turn at the press of a button, this is ideal for those who have limited mobility and can’t turn the seat by themselves. Optional extras also include a body harness, for those who need additional support, a powered footplate to maximise space and a slide track.
