Double Height Adjustment
The VP148C uses double height adjustment so the crutches can be adapted at both the upper and lower sections of the shaft.
The upper adjustment changes the relationship between the hand grip and forearm cuff, while the longer lower section alters the overall working height of the crutch.
Both sections use metal locking pins that engage with pre-set adjustment holes. Once the required position has been selected, the locking pins must protrude fully through the chosen holes before use.

VP148C-specific model
The VP148C is the ergonomic-handle version of Aidapt's double-adjustable elbow crutch range. Do not confuse these measurements with the standard VP148 wedge-handle model.
*These measurements are retained from Modern Mobility's existing VP148C product specification. The supplied Aidapt manual confirms the VP148C model, double adjustment and 159kg user weight limit, but does not provide a separate VP148C dimensional table.
Using and Caring for the Ergonomic Elbow Crutches
Correct adjustment and regular safety checks are important when using elbow crutches. The VP148C has two separate height-adjustment sections, and both locking mechanisms should be checked carefully before use.
Before First Use
1. Carefully remove all packaging.
2. Avoid knives or other sharp tools that could damage the crutches.
3. Check both crutches for visible damage.
4. If you notice damage or suspect a fault, do not use the crutches and contact the supplier.
Adjusting the Crutch Height
The VP148C has double height adjustment, allowing both the upper and lower sections of each crutch to be altered.
1. Hold the shaft securely with one hand.
2. Press the metal locking pin fully into the shaft.
3. Move the adjustable section upwards or downwards to the required position.
4. Release the locking pin into the selected adjustment hole.
5. Repeat the process for the longer lower section of the crutch.
6. Repeat the adjustment process on the second crutch as required.
Checking the Locking Pins
Before walking, make sure every locking pin protrudes fully through its selected adjustment hole.
Aidapt also recommends applying downward pressure through the handle after adjustment to check that the crutch has been assembled securely.
Do not use the crutches if a locking pin is only partly engaged. Both upper and lower adjustment points must be securely locked before weight is placed through the crutch.
Setting Both Crutches
When the crutches are being used as a pair, make sure the relevant height settings are adjusted consistently so they provide an appropriate and balanced walking position.

Before Each Use
Check that:
• The aluminium shafts are not bent or visibly damaged.
• All locking pins protrude fully through the selected holes.

• All other fittings and push-in components remain secure.
Cleaning the Crutches
Aidapt recommends cleaning the crutches using a non-abrasive cleaner or mild detergent with a soft cloth.
1. Wipe the crutches using a soft cloth and mild detergent or non-abrasive cleaner.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
3. Do not use abrasive cleaning pads.
4. Wipe the crutches dry after cleaning.
Regular Maintenance
Carry out a safety check at regular intervals and whenever you have concerns about the condition of the crutches.
Pay particular attention to the adjustment pins, handles, cuffs, ferrules and any push-in or fastened components. If anything becomes loose, damaged or unreliable, stop using the crutches until the issue has been checked.
