A dual motor riser recliner with independent backrest and footrest control. The Brookfield combines powered rise assistance, removable sides for side transfers, wipe-clean PU upholstery and a maximum user weight of 160kg.
Brookfield Dual Motor Riser Recliner
The Aidapt Brookfield is a dual motor riser recliner chair designed to give independent powered control of the backrest and footrest, allowing the seating position to be adjusted more flexibly than on a single-motor chair.
The powered rise function lifts the chair towards a near-standing position to support transfers in and out of the seat, while the recline system allows the chair to move through a range of relaxing positions.

Independent Backrest & Footrest Control
The OKIN dual motor system allows the backrest and footrest to be adjusted independently using the handset, helping the user find a comfortable sitting or reclined position.
The handset can also raise the chair into its lift position, helping the user move towards standing.
Removable Sides for Side Transfers
The Brookfield’s side sections can be removed to aid side transfers, such as transfers between the chair and a nearby bed.
The chair must first be moved into a reclined position before the sides are removed, as the backrest locks them in place when the chair is upright.
Wipe-Clean PU Upholstery
The chair is finished in PU upholstery designed for easier day-to-day cleaning and is available in Blue, Yellow and Purple colour options.
Four Castors for Easier Positioning
The Brookfield is fitted with four castors to help with positioning and manoeuvring the chair. Two of the castors are braked and two are unbraked.
Battery Backup for a Power Failure
A battery-backup system is built into the chair to provide an emergency cycle during a power failure. Two 9V batteries are required and are not supplied with the chair.
Room placement: Leave sufficient clear space in front of and behind the chair so the full rise and recline movement can operate without obstruction.

Product Weight Note
Aidapt's published Brookfield data contains conflicting chair-weight figures across different sources. Modern Mobility's existing 62kg figure has therefore been retained for the standard chair.
Using and Caring for the Brookfield Riser Recliner
Correct positioning, safe use of the handset and regular care help keep the Brookfield ready for everyday use. The following guidance is based on Aidapt's Brookfield instructions.
Positioning the Chair
• Place the chair on a flat, level floor in a dry indoor room.
• Leave sufficient clear space in front of and behind the chair for the rise and recline movement.
• Keep the area between the seat and footrest clear while the chair is operating.
• Keep children, pets and other people clear of the mechanism while the chair is moving.
Clearance: Aidapt's current manual specifies at least 40cm clear space in front and at least 65cm behind the chair, although the placement diagram shows approximately 72cm behind. Where possible, allow extra clearance and make sure the chair can complete its full movement without obstruction.
Using the Handset
The handset provides separate controls for the backrest, footrest and combined rise/recline movements. Release the selected button whenever you want the movement to stop.
Main Handset Functions
1. Raise or retract the footrest independently.
2. Raise or recline the backrest independently.
3. Raise the backrest, retract the footrest and lift the chair towards standing.
4. Recline the backrest, raise the footrest and lower the chair into a relaxing position.
Using the Rise Function
When using the chair to enter or leave the seat, Aidapt advises keeping the backrest upright unless a side transfer is being carried out using the specified procedure.
Important: Do not sit or stand on the footrest. Keep hands and fingers away from the space between the seat and footrest while the chair is moving.
Side Transfers
The Brookfield's side sections can be removed to aid a side transfer.
Removing a Side for Transfer
1. Move the chair into a reclined position.
2. Make sure the relevant castors are securely braked before the transfer.
3. Once reclined, lift the required side upwards and away from the chair.
4. Do not attempt to remove the sides while the chair is upright, because the backrest locks them into position.
Battery Backup
The emergency battery-backup system requires two 9V batteries, which are not supplied with the chair.
During a power failure, the backup system is intended to provide one cycle so the user can exit the chair. Aidapt recommends replacing the batteries after emergency use and checking them periodically.
Cleaning the Chair
Switch the chair off and disconnect it from the mains before cleaning.
Aidapt advises using leather cleaner and a dry towel on the PU surface. Keep wet towels or cloths away from the PU material.
• Do not use benzene, thinner or similar aggressive cleaning products.
• Do not remove the upholstery for washing.
• Do not iron the upholstery.
Storage
Keep the chair in a dry indoor environment away from excessive humidity, direct sunlight and high temperatures.
If the chair will not be used for a long period, disconnect it from the mains and cover it with a clean cloth to reduce dust build-up.
Motor Use
Aidapt specifies up to approximately two minutes of continuous motor operation, with around 15–30 seconds between operating cycles.
Servicing: There are no user-serviceable internal parts. If the chair develops a fault, stop using it and arrange inspection or repair by a suitably trained technician.
